The UCA Passport card serves as the ultimate navigation device for patients to use at any UCA affiliated urgent care center. It is a revolutionary concept that affords movement throughout the growing UCA network of facilities by simply presenting the card to the registration desk. I works similar to an ATM card. By swiping it in the card reader provided and entering a personal identification number (PIN) the patient authorizes the registration staff and the clinicians to access both demographic information and a medical record containing all entries at ANY affiliated center. The medical and demographic information are stored on a secure server and only the patient can authorize access to anyone. The Passport account number assigned to a patient remains with that patient for as long as the card is held.
Patients may be asked to confirm their identity after successfully executing the foregoing exercise for additional security reasons. Any medical or demographic updates to the chart will be made electronically while the patient is being treated and will automatically be available for authorized individuals immediately.
