At UCA it is the aggregated experience of the affiliated urgent care centers that are actually working in busy urgent care centers that present the greatest resource of knowledge that, when organized effectively in UCA's affiliation network, drive on-going performance improvement that result in better services provided to patients and revenue stream to the physicians.
Advisory Councils of providers from within the urgent care business have been created and are accessible for consulting and advice through the UCA communication forum. Advisory Councils have been established in the following areas of expertise:
Medical Council
Members of the Medical Council represent some of the most experienced urgent care operators in the industry. The credentials and background required in order to become part of the UCA Medical Council are stringent. All members have experience in starting their own urgent care centers and currently do so. Each serves as a leader in the field of urgent care medicine and contributed to the advancement of urgent care medicine in the United States.
Medical Council members may be contacted only through UCA. Appointments can be arranged through our offices and consulting fees are set by the individual council member and are provided in advance. Appointments are arranged based upon the following:
Telephone Consult: These usually last for one hour and are pre-arranged. The individual seeking the advice/counsel is asked to submit an advance request for the visit to the UCA offices along with a list of topics that are intended to be discussed. The request will be submitted to the council members as a group and, within forty eight (48) hours a list of those interested in filling the consult will be presented to the individual making the request along with the fee basis for each. Once a selection has been made by the requesting party, the phone conversation will be scheduled.
Site Visit: If the desire is for a Medical Council member to visit a location for an on-site consult, it must be arranged in the same manner as a telephone consult, however, the cost of travel expenses must be paid in advance of such a visit and the hourly rate will be different than for a phone consult.
Serving as a Medical Council member is an honor and the service quality provided by any member is expected to be of the highest quality. To become a Medical Council member, you must first have a center affiliation with UCA and you must sign a participant agreement stipulating the rate for your fee and your consent to allow UCA to act as your agent in scheduling your engagements.
Management and Operations Council
This Council is made up of managers and administrators that have extensive experience in urgent care design, start-up and management. They serve as consultants to the industry and UCA assists them in coordinating their services through our Council arrangement.
